    Eredivisie round 26

    AZ v Heerenveen
    Den Haag v Vitesse
    Heracles v Willem II
    NAC v PSV
    Roda v Feyenoord
    Sparta v Ajax
    Groningen v VVV Venlo
    Utrecht v NEC
    Waalwijk v Twente

Dare we suggest the Eredivisie is a bit stale this year? Well it is. The table barely changes week to week and while it's intriguing, it's not exactly thrilling. After two weeks with the top three - and they will be the top three come the end of the season - all played at home, they're all away this week. Twente go to Waalwijk where something amazing would have to happen for them to lose, likewise Ajax at Sparta. PSV have it slightly tougher in going to Breda to take on NAC and, while they've lost Danko Lazovic to Zenit St Petersburg, they've been able to bring in Andy van der Meyde as a free agent to the end of the season. Any slip-up by the leaders and it could all swing back to Twente, while for Ajax, the big challenge is making it a hundred league goals. They need to go at three per game.

Feyenoord will finish fourth. There, I've said it. Miles behind Ajax and miles ahead of AZ, they are as lonely as it gets. Whatever happens against Roda JC this weekend won't make much difference to them. AZ have improved lately and sit in fifth, the top of the Europa League play-off places. They take on Heerenveen this week with the Frieslanders also looking to make those play-offs. Groningen and VVV Venlo are also in the hunt and face off up north and Utrecht, for so long in genuine European contention, look to get back to winning ways against improving NEC.

The big game at the bottom sees Vitesse go to Den Haag while Willem II take on Heracles in Almelo with the home side still chasing Europe and the Tilburg side in terrible form.
