Campeonato Brasileiro Série A Week 9 Part II

    Corinthians 4-2 Fluminense

Ronaldo is back. Official. The former PSV Eindhoven, Barcelona, Internazionale Milano, Real Madrid and Milan striker got his first hat-trick in a long time and first goals of the Série A season to put the Copa do Brasil winners Corinthians fifth in the table.

The first was a delicate left foot finish after 24 minutes before Denthino doubled the advantage five minutes later. The second Ronaldo goal and Corinthians third was a sublime strike which confused the Fluminense keeper. The visitors didn't give up though and reduced the deficit when Dario Conca raced through the Corinthians defence and slammed the ball home. Five minutes later the gap was down to one thanks to an own goal from Diego Silva. Fluminense's star striker Fred, the former Olympique de Lyonnais player, then got himself off for bad mouthing the official, capped off by referring to the man in black as the "son of a whore". Ronaldo then completed his hat-trick 5 minutes from time with a super strike from the edge of the area.
