Copa Sudamericana Preliminary Round 1st Legs Part 3

    Tigre 2-1 San Lorenzo
    River Plate 1-2 Lánus
    Boca Juniors 1-1 Vélez Sársfield

It was all Argentinian action in the first leg ties this week in the Copa Nissan Sudamericana. Tigre entered their first ever international club competition against local opposition in San Lorenzo but were successful in their first fixture in the big time. Martin Morel got Tigre off to a dream start with a fourth minute stike before Lucas Oviedo doubled the lead shortly after. Diego Riviero grabbed a vital away goal for San Lorenzo but they finished with only 10 men. Juan Manuel Torres seeing red with 10 minutes left. Despite the return to River of legend Ariel Ortega, Lánus came from a goal behind to shock River at the Estadio Monumental, Cristian Fabbiani put River ahead half way through the first half and there were still leading with 10 minutes to go before Eduardo Salvio stuck. He then gave Lánus the advantage with an injury time strike that silenced the home support. Boca Juniors got the perfect start against Vélez Sársfield at La Bombonera when Pablo Mouche Boca ahead with under three minutes on the clock. Boca wasted a hatful of chances and were made to pay when Gabriel Paletta could only guide a shot from Victor Zapata into his own net with 11 minutes to go.
